چکیده

In this paper, we propose a simple rule that generates scale-free small-world networks with tunable assortative coefficient. These networks are constructed by two-stage adding process for each new node. The model can reproduce scale-free degree distributions and small-world effect. The simulation results are consistent with the theoretical predictions approximately. Interestingly, we obtain the nontrivial clustering coefficient C and tunable degree assortativity r by adjusting the parameter: the preferential exponent b. The model can unify the characterization of both assortative and disassortative networks. r 2006 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

The weighted tunable clustering in local-world networks with incremental behaviors

Since some realistic networks are influenced not only by increment behavior but also by tunable clustering mechanism with new nodes to be added to networks, it is interesting to characterize the model for those actual networks. In this paper, a weighted local-world model, which incorporates increment behavior and tunable clustering mechanism, is proposed and its properties are investigated, suc...

Geometric Assortative Growth Model for Small-World Networks

It has been shown that both humanly constructed and natural networks are often characterized by small-world phenomenon and assortative mixing. In this paper, we propose a geometrically growing model for small-world networks. The model displays both tunable small-world phenomenon and tunable assortativity. We obtain analytical solutions of relevant topological properties such as order, size, deg...

Self-similarity, small-world, scale-free scaling, disassortativity, and robustness in hierarchical lattices

In this paper, firstly, we study analytically the topological features of a family of hierarchical lattices (HLs) from the view point of complex networks. We derive some basic properties of HLs controlled by a parameter q: scale-free degree distribution with exponent γ = 2+ ln 2 ln q , null clustering coefficient, power-law behavior of grid coefficient, exponential growth of average path length...

Clustering assortativity, communities and functional modules in real-world networks

Complex networks of real-world systems are believed to be controlled by common phenomena, producing structures far from regular or random. Clustering, community structure and assortative mixing by degree are perhaps among most prominent examples of the latter. Although generally accepted for social networks, these properties only partially explain the structure of other networks. We first show ...

Growing scale-free networks with small-world behavior.

In the context of growing networks, we introduce a simple dynamical model that unifies the generic features of real networks: scale-free distribution of degree and the small-world effect. While the average shortest path length increases logarithmically as in random networks, the clustering coefficient assumes a large value independent of system size. We derive analytical expressions for the clu...
